Dr. Sathappan is an academically-affiliated, board-certified psychiatrist and Site Medical Director at Lumin Health Brookline, who also practices at Boston Children’s Hospital. With expertise in both pediatric and adult psychiatry, he treats individuals across the lifespan, focusing on interventional approaches for treatment-resistant conditions. He has specialized training in esketamine (Spravato), ketamine therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Dr. Sathappan co-authored published work on navigating informed consent for ketamine in adolescents with treatment-resistant depression, a key clinical interest. He enjoys bringing breathwork, meditation, and various therapeutic modalities into his treatment approach. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he serves as a course director for Harvard psychiatry fellows and is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School.
