Lumin is on a whole other level. I’ve never been to a medical center that takes such genuine care of their patients. From the moment you walk in, you can tell everything has been thoughtfully designed to make you feel comfortable and cared for. What really makes the biggest difference, though, is the people. The staff, nurses, and everyone I interact with were incredibly kind and welcoming. Just like the space itself, they made me feel like more than just a patient. They truly care about your overall well-being, and mental health. It’s rare to feel that seen and supported in a healthcare setting.

I’ve been going to the Harvard Square Lumin clinic for the past three months and the staff have been so warm, communicative, and accommodating - a must obviously when you’re doing the kind of work Lumin is. I have always felt accepted and supported during my sessions ( for example I have had a couple of panic attacks while working through stuff and can’t imagine a better space and set of people to have there to hold and help me come down). Of course there isn’t a miracle cure for major depression but Lumin has been a great tool to help me get back to a place where I’m able to utilize my other skills to manage this!

I had never done ketamine treatment before so I went into my first appointment a little nervous. Since then it’s been an absolutely amazing experience, and the staff do extremely well at making sure you feel comfortable and safe. For anyone interested in this type of therapy, this is the place to do it. The staff are extremely kind, informative, and really show how much they care about you and your wellbeing. Easily 5 stars, and I would do 6 if that were possible.

The rumors are true - Spravato is lifechanging. The person I was in April of last year is unrecognizable to me. I've never felt so free in my entire life. But my review is about Lumin Health. Lumin employs some of the most warm, kind, and attentive professionals I've ever met. From the moment of my intake call I have been welcomed and respected by everyone involved in this operation. These traits are essential when working with such a vulnerable form of therapy, and this is why Lumin has my most enthusiastic recommendation. The environment is cozy and well designed; the lobby is stocked with snacks and drinks, while the treatment rooms have recliners, blankets, and a button to call your provider. They even have a little monthly gift for their clients! Calling Lumin was easily one of the best decisions I ever made for my health. I started my treatment in Newton and was thrilled to have an office open right in my town. The staff at Lumin - Brookline have welcomed me into their office and I feel like part of the family. It is so wonderful to walk in and see office staff and doctor's all loving what they're doing. What happens in this office is groundbreaking and the future of mental health medicine. I look forward to my weekly treatments as time for me to improve my mental health and the ketamine treatment itself is totally relaxing. I know for those 2 hours, I am fully immersed in self-care. My experience at Lumin and Ketamine therapy has been amazing. I knew nothing about Ketamine treatment and after my first phone call I learned so much and soon decided to proceed. Ketamine therapy for me has been the most effective treatment of my depression and anxiety I have ever tried. Years of different meds plus TMS have masked my symptoms and eventually stopped helping. The Ketamine experience for me is like a deep meditation that provides me with great perspective, all the while lifting my depression and anxiety. I was a bit anxious on my way into Lumin Health before my first session. Once I arrived the anxiety quickly subsided when I met Kerry "Nurse Happiness" Parsons. I couldn't of been more comforted and put at ease. She is lovely and someone that TRULY cares about what she does and exudes a very holistic approach to wellness . She was integral in shifting my whole experience from any of the initial anxiety to me being absolutely calm, open and ready to allow the healing that this experience has done to happen.

Highly recommended if you’ve struggled with depression and nothing seems to help. The staff are dedicated to your care and want to support you. They have a nice office in Newton Centre that’s very comfortable. Spravato, the nasal spray form of ketamine, can now be covered by insurance. There’s no reason not to call and see if it might be helpful for you.

An absolutely amazing place with the best staff ever. It’s so clear how much everyone who works there believes in what they’re doing and they greet me warmly every time I’m there. Each one of them is knowledgeable about the ketamine treatments and I appreciate the transparency in price on their website as well as the bios from each of the providers. Before deciding on Lumin I talked to other ketamine clinics who were not able to answer my questions and there’s no transparency about pricing or any information on the staff who works there. Ketamine Therapy at Lumin Health has been fascinating and helpful to me in dealing with the symptoms of my post traumatic stress disorder. The setting is non-clinical, welcoming, informal, and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Kerry, the nurse practitioner that oversees the site, provides great support and strives to be as flexible as possible to meet my needs both as a new and nervous patient and as I continue to explore this valuable therapeutic option.

I had great experience with Lumin Health and would recommend them to anyone who is seeking ketamine therapy. Every single person I interacted with had a passion for helping their patients and it shows. They were amazing, caring people who made me feel at ease. Additionally the office was clean, cozy and comfortable and in a great location. When I first called their office on a Saturday, Gene called me back minutes later and spent around thirty minutes answering all my questions for me and setting me up with an appointment with the doctor for the following week. I could tell he had a passion for helping people and wanted to see me get better. When I had my appointment with the doctor, Ben, I felt he really cared about what I was going through and explained ketamine therapy and answered all my questions. I have never been so moved by a provider of any care or service to a write a review before, and this one is long overdue because I couldn’t find the words to fully express my gratitude or what makes Lumin so unique. There is customer service, patient care, and then there is Lumin Health. It sits in a tier of its own. At first the knowledge, empathy, understanding, and accommodation of each team member was surprising, each interaction had the exact personal touch I needed in the moment, soon it felt natural and I wondered why I haven’t felt so at ease and understood anywhere else. Over the months of treatment I’ve tried to figure out their secret to providing the unmatched level of understanding and care. I imagined some.intricate master plan designed with the patient’s comfort as the top priority snd wondered how Lumin accomplishes it with such ease when it’s so rare. . I’ve come to realize it’s much more simple than I imagined. At Lumin I never feel like a patient talking to a clinician, I feel like a human talking to a human, even on the days I feel quite less than human. There is no secret sauce, simply a team that wholeheartedly wants me to be well. The treatments themselves have greatly increased the quality of life for me and my family, the improvement was near immediate and undeniably noticeable. Having Lumin Health as a second home is the backbone of that progress.. Depression can make the easy become difficult. Lumin makes the difficult easy. I remember the first time I dialed the number, as soon as Gene picked up life seemed easier. After 45 minutes asking millions of questions and getting knowledgeable, confident answers I felt like I was talking to an old friend who understood me and my depression but had a passion to help. Treatment at Lumin Health really helped me through some of the lowest points of my life. The staff is incredibly kind and insightful, and the clinic is very calming and peaceful. I learned things about myself through discussions with the clinicians, and my own exploration during my treatments at Lumin Health, that I don't think I would have otherwise, which really has helped me understand myself and where to go in my mental health journey. Their care during treatment was excellent. Follow up for therapy and other programs was initially delayed, but after speaking with them this week, I am impressed by their transparency, helpfulness and willing to talk at length about treatment options.

Lumin is an incredible place. All staff members are sensitive and personable, and I always know that my care is uppermost in their concerns. When I started treatment, I was amazed at how much consideration was given to my comfort and preferences. That certainly continues now that I'm almost six months in. I always look forward to my sessions. Lumin is a wonderful place to receive Spravato (esketamine) treatments and I highly recommend contacting them.

This is a comprehensive review, not your typical gushing one. Yes, ketamine therapy worked for me as well, but that's pretty independent of who's administering it, unless we're talking about Ketamine Assisted Therapy, which while much more effective, isn't offered here, or at Emerge Ketamine or Boston MindCare (only Cambridge Biotherapies offers it, in the greater Boston Area). So yes, I've looked at all ketamine clinics around Boston. Lumin Pros: 1. Lumin offers intramuscular injections or spray-based administration. The sprays may be covered by insurance, while the IM injections (or IV infusions at other clinics) are not, but they're more effective due to the much greater bioavailability (93%-95% vs. 25–35%). While the sprays compensate by containing a larger total dose, they're also a FIXED dose, and your body will rapidly adapt to the dose, potentially making the therapy less effective. The dose for IM injections starts at 0.5mg/kg of body weight, and they can be increased (very important as you build tolerance), for the same price ($500/shot). The comfort is much higher than being tethered to an IV. 2. The price is the best in the area. At the time of this review, Emerge charged $550/infusion, Boston MindCare $550, and Cambridge Biotherapies $650 (excluding talk therapy). You'll need 4-6 injections to see tangible results. 3. The staff is very nice and accommodating. They'll check in with how you're doing, though this isn't therapy. 4. There's quite some flexibility in the appointment slots. Even if you initially get an inconvenient time (e.g. early morning), you can often call or email and they'll reschedule you for later in the afternoon after work. 5. The location is great - near a large green park where you can go lay down, enjoy the nature, and meditate/journal. 6. The rooms are comfortable, with recliners so you can lie down, weighted blankets, noise machines (though I recommend earbuds so you can lie down comfortably, even on the side, listening to your own materials), lamps, shades, and small snacks. Lumin Cons: - No therapy option. Studies have shown (and personal experience has confirmed) that talk therapy right after the infusion is much more effective for treating depression than ketamine alone. Tips: 1. Don't expect a breakthrough right away. Most people start feeling better after session #4. I started feeling significantly better a few weeks after the last session (#6). 2. View ketamine as a crutch to get you out of your mental situation, and able to make changes that will have longer-term results: establishing healthy habits (exercise especially), ending unfulfilling professional or personal relationships, stopping bad habits. Ketamine _might_ keep you not-depressed if you continue your unhappy life, but you might need to redose often, and be aware that chronic ketamine users may develop serious bladder problems. Best to use your not-depressed state to solve issues in your life, then lead a happier healthier life. Ketamine won't help with ADHD, but it may help with OCD. 3. Ask to increase the dose at each session, especially if you get the shots twice a week so only a few days apart. I made the mistake of being persuaded to keep the dose the same for session #5, and that was the least therapeutic of the sessions. 4. Plan a few hours for yourself after the sessions. Be prepared to have insights worth writing down or pondered carefully. Avoid talking to other people as much as possible, as that can easily take you out of the introspective state. Don't waste this time doing mindless things or running errands.

I'm so thankful thankful I found Lumin! The staff is wonderful, they are kind, caring, funny as well as good clinicians. The space feels comfortable and welcoming, the rooms are relaxing and comfy. The best thing is...everything they do is so thoughtful, from the snacks (so many and so good) the decor and furnishings is as thoughtfully done as their practice. If you're looking for any service that Lumin offers, I do recommend getting it at Lumin vs. somewhere else. The staff are friendly and welcoming immediately when you enter. They offer anything possible to make your visit more safe and comfortable for you. They're also VERY responsive to answering their phones or returning voicemails or emails. I've been at other therapy centers and have had very different experiences. This is the only place I've been where every box is checked: friendly, safe, comfortable, and responsive.

I’ve been receiving Spravato treatments for over a month, noticing ways my depression is lifting. The staff at Lumin in Newton Center are RNs overseen by 2 psychiatrists, all of whom have been professional, attentive and kind. The treatment rooms are designed for our comfort & trust in the process. I bring my IPhone & access a jack, Bluetooth connection and headphones, in a recliner, so I’m able to choose my own music on Spotify. The treatments are fascinating & I find each “journey” to be revelatory and spiritually vivid. I recommend Lumin in Newton highly.

This place is great. Jess is always smiling and cheerful when you enter, in fact everyone I’ve had contact with has been kind and happy actually which is rare. They give you a nice welcome bag when you arrive which includes things like a mug, an insulated snack bag, a blank journal as well as a treatment specific journal, and some other stuff. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and they provide little candies in each one along with items such as a weighted blanket, massage chair, and noise canceling headphones. There’s also tea and a “snack bar” for a treat on your way out. I’ve definitely noticed improvement in myself since starting & would recommend this treatment and this location/company.

Life changing

I have had a great experience at lumin health and can't recommend them more!

Lumin helped me resolve issues I had been talking about for years. I have experienced many breakthrough and seemingly permanent results since having Ketamine Therapy. I have done alot of personal growth, did talk therapy off and on for many years, and many workshops on working through issues. It's not that they did not help, but they did not alleviate the emotional charge and triggers. Ketamine helped me to access my unconsious and heal myself emotionally so that I was forever changed after. For example, I no longer have abandonment concerns. My anxiety level has dropped off immensly and I no longer feel threatened and scared if my husband and I have a disagreement. In fact, we've hardly had a spat in 6 months. We are both enjoying the benefits of my treatments. At Lumin, the office and rooms are comfortable, the staff is fantastic and I feel looked after and taken care of while I am there. They have noise canceling headphones, weighted blankets, comfortable rooms, beverages and snacks. It really is such warm and comfortable space to get treatment. Thank you to Lumin!

I've been going to the Woburn office for a couple of months. From the first conversation with Chester I felt comfortable. He is very knowlegeable about the treatment . My first appointment I was so nervous, and the staff are wonderful and helped ease my fears. Lumin is on a whole other level. I’ve never been to a medical center that takes such genuine care of their patients. From the moment you walk in, you can tell everything has been thoughtfully designed to make you feel comfortable and cared for. What really makes the biggest difference, though, is the people. The staff, nurses, and everyone I interact with were incredibly kind and welcoming. Just like the space itself, they made me feel like more than just a patient. I’ve been going to the Harvard Square Lumin clinic for the past three months and the staff have been so warm, communicative, and accommodating - a must obviously when you’re doing the kind of work Lumin is. I have always felt accepted and supported during my sessions ( for example I have had a couple of panic attacks while working through stuff and can’t imagine a better space and set of people to have there to hold and help me come down). Of course there isn’t a miracle cure for major depression but Lumin has been a great tool to help me get back to a place where I’m able to utilize my other skills to manage this!

Lumin helped me resolve issues I had been talking about for years. I have experienced many breakthrough and seemingly permanent results since having Ketamine Therapy. I have done alot of personal growth, did talk therapy off and on for many years, and many workshops on working through issues. It's not that they did not help, but they did not alleviate the emotional charge and triggers. The Lumin team is amazing and I'm so grateful to receive treatment at their clinic. I have felt so supported every step of the way. I started my treatment in Newton and was thrilled to have an office open right in my town. The staff at Lumin - Brookline have welcomed me into their office and I feel like part of the family. It is so wonderful to walk in and see office staff and doctor's all loving what they're doing. What happens in this office is groundbreaking and the future of mental health medicine. I look forward to my weekly treatments as time for me to improve my mental health and the ketamine treatment itself is totally relaxing. I know for those 2 hours, I am fully immersed in self-care. What I've noticed since my treatment started is that my hope for the future is renewed. I know that I have a place in this world and am happy to be living my life fully - no longer stagnant.
