Dr. Samaneh Keshavarz is a psychiatrist who believes that compassionate care begins with truly understanding her patients and helping them find meaningful solutions when they are struggling. She is particularly interested in expanding treatment options for patients with depression, including the use of ketamine and other innovative treatments for those who have not experienced sufficient improvement with traditional approaches. Dr. Keshavarz has extensive experience in general adult psychiatry as well as specialized training in women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders and the ways hormonal and reproductive transitions can influence mental health across a woman’s lifespan, from menstrual cycle-related mood changes and the postpartum period to perimenopause and menopause. She completed advanced training through the National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry and has pursued dedicated clinical work with both general adult and women’s mental health populations. Dr. Keshavarz earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her psychiatry residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where she served as Outpatient Chief Resident. Her broad clinical training and experience have shaped an approach to care that is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized, with an emphasis on helping patients find treatments that meaningfully improve their symptoms and quality of life.
