Lumin Health Editorial & Medical Review Policy
Last Modified: December 9, 2025
At Lumin Health, we want the voice and clarity of our editorial work to reflect how we deliver ketamine and esketamine (Spravato) care. We publish to help you weigh real options – ketamine therapy, Spravato treatment, and related supports – without pressure or hype. The standard is simple: careful content, written with rigorous clinical evidence, compassion and plain language.
What keeps our pages medically sound – critical clinical review by experts
Every clinical page is built from primary, reputable sources. We prioritize FDA labeling and REMS materials for Spravato, guidance from national institutes such as NIMH, major guidelines, and peer-reviewed studies. Where we reflect clinical experience, we label it as such and use careful qualifiers like “may,” “in some patients,” or “emerging evidence suggests.” Off-label ketamine treatment is named clearly as off-label and never presented as a cure. Wherever possible, we link to original research and guidance so you can read more deeply. We avoid weak or conflicted sources and disclose any material relationships if they arise. We currently have none to report.
Review, transparency, and independence
All clinical content is reviewed twice before publication: medical review for accuracy and editorial review for clarity, readability, and inclusivity. Our Clinical Editor-in-Chief is Ben Yudkoff, MD – Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Lumin Health. Each page shows an author, a “Medically reviewed by” line, a last-reviewed date, and a next scheduled review date. When a change alters understanding or action, we post a brief change-note at the top of the page.
Clinical editors have final say on medical claims. Growth, marketing, or SEO inputs do not override medical judgment. We do not publish sponsored content, affiliate links, or paid placements that could bias clinical information.

How we write about ketamine therapy – and for whom
We serve people exploring ketamine for depression, families seeking clarity, and clinicians who refer to a Spravato clinic. We define terms once, avoid jargon where we can, and pair potential benefits with real-world risks and logistics. You will see “esketamine (Spravato)” on first mention, and “Spravato” thereafter when context is clear. We describe our clinicians as academically-affiliated. We refer to psychotherapy or behavioral support, not “integration.” Because health information falls under Your Money or Your Life (YMYL), we hold our pages to a higher bar for accuracy, transparency, and safety.
How we keep information on ketamine, esketamine (Spravato) and mental health treatments current
Evergreen education and service pages are reviewed at least every 12 months. High-velocity topics – like label or safety updates – are reviewed every 3–6 months. We also update pages when new evidence or FDA guidance appears. Minor factual fixes are made within five business days once verified. If something material changes, we update promptly and explain what changed.
Accessibility and inclusion at Lumin Health
We write to be understood. Patient-facing pages target an 8–10th grade reading level whenever possible. We use identity-affirming language and avoid pathologizing terms. Non-decorative images include meaningful alt text authored by editorial in collaboration with design. We are moving toward consistent WCAG-informed practices across templates.
Education on ketamine treatment vs. services
Education pages focus on evidence, options, and lived experience. Service pages describe how care works – setting, monitoring, side effects, transportation needs, insurance – without urgency-based calls to action. If you are in crisis or worried about your safety, please call or text 988 in the U.S. or contact local emergency services.
Where this editorial and medical content policy applies for Lumin Health
This policy covers all content on www.lumin.health and its subpages, including service pages, patient handouts, and our blog. It also governs updates to older pages so language and claims match these standards.
